I just can't stop taking pictures of dogs...

It seems like I always end up finding some adorable dog and just having to take a picture of it!  My friend Daniel recently adopted a new puppy from the Atlanta Humane Society.  He is a very smart and sweet dog!  So far he has no name but he still listens very well for a 3 month old.

So for all you people out there looking, trying adopting!! I have found that adopting can be a very rewarding experience and little pups like this one will love you for it!!!

New Stuff To Come!

I'm so excited for the next couple of weeks! I have been soaking in so much good information from photography friends and great blogs lately! I recently shot a kid's birthday party which was a lot of fun. Needless to say I wish my birthday parties were like that when I was a kid. I'm also working on my new website! I hope to have it up and running in about a week. So stayed tuned!!!

Up and Coming

Tomorrow is an exciting day for me! I will be shooting a child's birthday party at Opera night club in Atlanta. This is my first solo booking and I am super excited! To be honest, this is my first time shooting kids and I've done my research. I hope the research comes in handy with 15 3-year-olds running around. I found a really great website that gives good tips on how to shoot children. Check it out for all you proud parents out there!
Here is my friend Daniel's beautiful mutt, O'Riley at Candler Park.

Paxton

Here is my good friend Nikki's little ball of joy, Paxton. In the Georgia heat, it only took this guy about 10 minutes before he was exhausted. He was a champ though and made it through the day of shooting.

Happy Friday

It's only 9 a.m. and today has been a very productive day. I just got done meeting with photographer Aharon Hill. She is an amazing portrait and wedding photography. I was so excited to meet with her and show her some of my work. She gave me some great tips on how to improve my photography and make the most out of my pictures. I'm so grateful that she took the time out of schedule to meet with me!
This weekend I'm shooting my friend's dog in Midtown and hopefully I'll get some great pictures and post them shortly.

Why am I blogging?

I am very excited for this day-the start of my blog. Since I was a young girl, I loved taking pictures. I used to take all my dad's National Geographic magazines and look at the pictures. I would dream that I was that photographer who traveled the world taking these amazing photographs. My dad had so many cameras and our walls were filled of pictures he took. When I was in middle school, I received my first SLR camera for Christmas from my parents. I became obsessed with it. I took that camera everywhere I went and took pictures of everything. To this day, I have boxes full of photos from my childhood of my family, house, pets and trips.

Now, at 24, I'm finally coming back around to my childhood passion. Something about taking a picture, stopping that moment... it's my favorite thing to do. I bought a Nikon D5000 back in February and since then I have been mostly practicing on my dog, Kona. I look forward to my journey through photography and having the opportunity to be creative no matter what I am doing in life!
