New family additions: Pam and Sonny

I grew up with a ton of animals.  Well, that is kind of an understatement.

My parents bred Rhodesian Ridgebacks and Catahoula Leopard dogs and we constantly had a ton of cats.    Luckily, I grew up on 5 acres so it wasn't animal hoarders but some vistors might had thought so.  To me, that was normal.

I do not desire to have 8 dogs and 10 cats at a time, ever, even if I did have a ton of space and land.  I enjoy spoiling Kona too much to share that company with another animal, that is, until recently.

On a whim, Brett and I visited the local pound and making a long story short, we ended up bringing home two kittens.  One was precious and the other one was sick and we couldn't leave them behind because honestly, they were/are so sweet.

So, did Kona accept these new additions?  It was a challenge.  A MAJOR challenge day 1 and 2.  I felt guilty as Kona was non-stop shaking and stressing out about these strange noises coming from the laundry room.  Slowly, we worked with her and eventually let go (both metaphorically and physically) of the leash and let things happen.  Lucky for us, Kona did amazing and now sleeps with them near her, she'll even share her food bowl.  She trots happily behind them as they run their crazy cat circles around the apartment.  She does however steal her toys back from that.. but hey it's progress!

Here they are, Pam (stripes) and Sonny (orange and white).

Kona's tail is the best cat toy.

Seemingly part ferret

How 'bout them whiskers?
