So Crafty-New Logo

I've admired people who are crafty and take simple items and create unique pieces.  So when my sister told me she was pregnant, I was excited that I'd be the one taking her new born pictures and that means CUTE HEADBANDS!   I searched Etsy for too many hours to find the perfect headband then realized that it was ridiculous because this kid would wear the head band for 10 minutes max!
So, I took some nods from the people around me and some youtube videos and made felt roses.  These are so simple to make!  Seriously so easy, now I just have to find the right band to glue them onto.

Also, Jackelyn Lynam Photography now has a new logo!  Thank you to my friend Derek Howles for his work on this and if you like my design and are interested in his work, let me know!  He designed this website.

Happy Monday Ya'll!

Out of Africa and some amazing people

Last week I received a text from my mentor/favorite photographer, Aharon HIll  asking if I was down for some dress up on Saturday.  I was thinking good lord, what does she have in mind?  Aharon was shooting a stylized wedding shoot with the amazing duo from The Asian Cajuns, Lauren and Catherine.  I was the second shooter at Lauren's wedding back in March with Aharon and it was beyond stylized and chic.  I had such a good time getting to know theses girls during the wedding so I was down to help with this shoot any way I could.  My help came in the form of modeling! Really? Me model?  I am totally flattered but I am 5' 3'' .. not your typical model stature.  Either way, I was honored and excited to participate because who wouldn't want to be dressed up in a wedding dress adorned with a delicate flowered headband? So I said "I do" to Aharon, played coupled with a complete stranger (that was aided by some delish champagne) and got to sweat it out on an safari themed stylings of Lauren and Catherine.

Here are some shots of Aharon doing her lovely work! I will link to Aharon's completed post once she's finished! :)

In Action

When you're "the photographer," you rarely get pictures of yourself.  Which is ok for me because I don't believe that I'm very photogenic.  I was happily surprised though when a friend of the couple of my Buckhead wedding in May emailed me some pictures of me working.  Thanks David Schiff for sharing these with me...
So without further ado, here is me, in action! Boom!

Gotta do what I can to get my angles!

Rocking my Tom's! They save the day every time! :)

I look so focused- pun not intended, lol.

See I'm especially not photogenic when I'm caught off guard, lol.

Andy+Stephanie Engagement Session

It was the weekend and it was Sunday morning and at 5 a.m. I was awake.  Sunday really is God's day because this is a miracle.  As anyone who knows me, I am a big fan of sleeping.  But what awaited me this morning didn't make me think twice about curling back up in bed.

Similar to those feelings you get as a kid the night before Christmas or that highly anticipated trip to Six Flags in my family, I felt that way this morning.  I was heading to Duluth, Ga to meet with Andy and Stephanie for their engagement session.  On my way to McDaniel Farm, the dark sky gave way to a soft, pink orange hue that reminded me of sherbet ice-cream: it's going to be a great shooting day.

Since Andy and I had been conversing over the phone and through email, I was so happy to finally meet him and his bride to be Stephanie.  To date one of my most thoughtful and easy going clients.  He took the icing of the cake when he showed up with a Starbuck's vanilla latte.   I mean talk about brownie points!  And Stephanie...the perfect match.  Both were so open and excited to be together taking pictures.  Even though it was super early, they were quick to be playful and really have fun with the poses.  This is why I love photography... you can take the beauty of our world and the love inside us and you capture that timeless moment in a medium you can take with you and pass down.  Thank you both for the amazing session!!
